Sergio J. Aguilar Alcalá

Sergio J. Aguilar Alcalá received his M.A. in Communication (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). He performed as the co-producer of Morbido Mérida, an International Fantastic and Horror Film Festival. He has taught courses on film theory, documentary, horror cinema and communication and psychoanalysis in several Mexican universities. He is a member of the Mexican Permanent Seminar of Film Analysis. He was a beneficiary of a scholarship to attend the Critical Theory Summer School at Birkbeck University of London. His research interests are film theory, film philosophy, psychoanalysis, Marxism and digital cultures.
